The Beja Botanical Museum has a specimen of Wollemi Pine tree bought in an auction held by Sotheby’s (Sydney) in October 2005. At the present it is the only specimen that exists in the Iberia Peninsula.

This living fossil was discovered in Australia, in September 1994, when David Noble found some trees in one Wollemi National Park canyon, located in the vicinity of Sydney.

This was announced as the botanical discovery of the century and immediately attracted the interest of the botanical community as well as many tree enthusiasts. More information about this extraordinary tree can be obtained in the wollemi pine official web page (www.wollemipine.com).
